Some books are important to us because they provide us information. Others allow us to marvel at their literary beauty. And some books, the ones I consider most important, can transport our minds to new places, where we meet new people and face dangerous quests and adventures, only to have to say goodbye when we have to go. Books can be cruel. Books can be boring or daft, but they’ll always be there for us, when we need to escape our harsh reality. That is why we need books.
