Comparativul se formează cu terminația -er la sfârșitul adjectivului scurt, ori la adjectivele mai lungi, se adaugă înaintea lor more.(ex: crazy-crazier, funny- funnier, cool- cooler, expensive- more expensive, interesting-more interesting)

Superlativul se formează adăugând -est la sfârșitul adjectivelor scurte, iar la cele lungi se adaugă înaintea lor the most.(ex: cold- coldest, old- oldest, cheap- cheapest, colorful- the most colorful, annoying- the most annoying)

De asemenea,mai sunt și câteva excepții:

bad- worse- the worst

good- well -the best
